The project was developed for a rather challenging space. The shared kitchen and living room area is quite narrow, and the double-height section is small and tall, creating a “well-like” effect. The entire ground-floor layout revolves around four structural columns of the house. On the one hand, this added complexity, but on the other, it allowed for finding non-trivial functional solutions.
The design is executed in a modern style with a warm color palette. The flooring, made of HAUPTMANN microcement, gives the interior a minimalist effect. The living room with double-height ceilings looks cohesive thanks to a decorative wooden frame on the walls. A tall glass wine cabinet serves as the focal point of the space and cleverly conceals one of the structural columns. The character of the interior is emphasized by accent lighting with a flexible ROPE track system by BYLED. A fairly spacious entryway appears twice as large due to a mirrored wall and doors leading to the wardrobe.
Challenging spaces often have immense creative potential. With the right design approach, the interiors of such spaces can become striking and unique while maintaining the required functionality.
